Attitudes Towards Environmental Tobacco Smoke

Date of publication: Jul 1999

Between 1989 and 1999 the National Research Bureau prepared four reports for the Department/Ministry of Health on people's smoking behaviour and attitudes to smoking and environmental tobacco smoke.

This 1999 survey looked at the incidence of workplace smoking restrictions and attitudes toward smoking. The survey analysed the views of 2698 people across New Zealand. The prime purpose was to obtain information which would assist the Ministry to provide the Government with information about changing public attitudes regarding protection against environmental tobacco smoke (ETS).
